Singaporean Sports Betting

Singapore Pools, the national lottery operator, is licensed to provide legal sports betting in Singapore. The company is a private subsidiary of a government-owned investment holding company and is an agent of the Singapore Totalisator Board. It contributes a large percentage of its revenue to internal causes within Singapore, including health-focused charities, sports development initiatives and the Singapore Olympic Team.

Football betting was introduced in 1999, and telephone sports betting began in August 2005.

In August 2022, the Gambling Control Act (GCA) came into effect. The GCA consolidates various gambling-related statutes and provides a comprehensive framework for regulating all forms of gambling, including sports betting.
